My story about the name Brigitta is dedicated to my grandmother Brigitta Popper. Brigitta was married to Walter Köngeter, who was my grandfather. After WWII, she divorced Walter and fell in love with Alfred Popper, a Jewish-American soldier. He urged her to accompany him to the United States.Brigitta, Alfred, and their children, including my father, resided in New York and Boston before settling in Falmouth, Maine, where the family and my cousins still live. When I was six years old, I went to visit my grandma with my aunt Susanne. I became quite close to her cat, Frisky, and we were climbing through trees together. Frisky did, however, bite me once, which terrified me. Mae by Frisky seemed jealous since I began to play baseball with the family and thoroughly enjoyed it. My grandmother also had horses, which is where my love for these creatures began. I spent my childhood and youth as a vaulter and with horses. I had the Frisky Trauma with a horse when I was about fourteen. My parents purchased me a horse named Jimmy. During one riding class, my coach whacked Jimmy severely with a crop. After this, the horse became traumatized and began to buck me off. Because the stable was quite snobbish, I felt ashamed and lost contact with Jimmy. What is your story with animals becoming wild and the Name Brigitta?
